AWID tags are low-frequency (125 kHz) tags widely used in the USA and Canada. Recently, AWID stopped making the original variant and now the fobs look different (see pictures). In Canada, some AWID key fobs also come with the Mircom variant, if your key fob's number is still visible, you can just enter the number when placing the order. Make sure to include the space if your number has two groups. No need to send us your key fob.
If the serial number is no longer visible. Feel free to contact us, we can recommend you a local shop that can help you with the key fob duplication.
Can AWID key fobs be copied?
Yes. Many AWID proximity fobs can be duplicated using the serial number printed on the credential.
What frequency do AWID fobs use?
Most AWID proximity credentials operate on 125 kHz low-frequency RFID technology.
Do I need to send my original fob?
In many cases, only a clear photo of the serial number is required.

What Is an AWID Key Fob?
An AWID key fob is a contactless RFID credential used with proximity card readers to grant access to secured areas such as doors, parking garages, and gates.
These credentials typically operate using 125 kHz low-frequency RFID technology and communicate with readers using standard Wiegand formats such as 26-bit or 50-bit encoding.
Because the technology is simple and widely supported, AWID fobs are commonly used in:
Apartment buildings
Condominium complexes
Office buildings
Gated communities
Parking garages
How AWID Key Fob Duplication Works
Duplicating your AWID key fob is straightforward.
Locate the serial number printed on the back of your key fob.
Upload a photo during checkout.
We program a compatible RFID credential using the same access data.
Once programmed, the new fob will work just like the original for building entry.
Many AWID credentials can be duplicated using the printed serial number, although if the number is damaged or unreadable the original fob may need to be scanned directly.
