Dormakaba 12690-DS4, also known as Dormakaba D EV3 4K, is based on the MIFARE DESFire technology. Many of our competitors struggle to duplicate them due to strong 128-bit AES-based authentication. We support duplicating all Dormakaba credentials.

Some Dormakaba EV3 fobs are dual-chip fobs, model number Dormakaba 12690-DS4-P, also known as Dormakaba P D EV3 4K. If you have one of these, that means your building used a mixed system (HF chip is used for suite door access using Dormakaba door locks, and LF chip is used for common area access using non-Dormakaba readers). If you have one of these fobs, please contact us before placing an order. An extra charge applies, and we may need to send you an extra fob and cloner.

If you are a locksmith or condo key fob duplication business and if you need to duplicate Dormakaba credentials for your customers. We may have the right tools for you. Please contact us for details.

We are the only condo key fob duplication business that can send you a reader so you can clone the tags yourself. You will need a computer. Below are the instructions page:

Most tags have an expiration date (usually at lease end). If you renew the lease, the management office will reprogram your original tag, and the cloned tag will stop working. If that happens, the cloned tags are not covered under warranty.

FAQ

What is a Dormakaba key fob?
A Dormakaba key fob is an RFID credential used in access control systems to unlock doors, gates, or elevators in residential and commercial buildings.

What technology do Dormakaba EV3 fobs use?
The Dormakaba credentials use MIFARE DESFire EV2/EV3 technology. Dormakaba's DESFire AID is f53280. The stored data is encrypted with Dormakaba proprietary encryption. To read the stored data. An AES-based 3-pass mutual authentication is performed (Dormakaba uses DESFire EV2 authentication). The data is then sent encrypted and MACed (Message Authentication Code). The 128-bit AES key is derived from the tag's UID. That means every tag's authentication key is different. Even if you manage to extract the key from your credential, you can't read other credentials. The Dormakaba readers have the master key that can authenticate with all the Dormakaba credentials. To protect the master key. The key diversification occurs on a SAM (Secure Access Module). The SAM is a specialized hardware chip that's used to securely store cryptographic keys and perform safe authentications. The SAM is designed to be impossible to crack if used correctly.

Why do you need a photo of my fob?
Dormakaba produces many different variants with different chip technologies and memory sizes. A photo helps identify the exact model so the correct duplicate can be created.
